Bark River causing problems in Summit

Highway 18 at the bridge at the Bark River near Utica Road is closed in Summit in Waukesha County because of high water, Summit Police Officer Brian Wraalstad said this morning.

Highway 67 remains open, but police are monitoring the bridge over the Bark River on Highway 67 north of Highway 18 because water is near the bottom of the span. If the water gets higher, Highway 67 may have to be closed at the bridge, Wraalstad said.

He about 20 homeowners have voluntarily evacuated their homes along County Road DR (Delafield Road) near Venice Beach Road because of flooding.

And some homeowners along Douglas Drive also voluntarily evacuated because of flooding, he said.
