Monday Update

Well gang, if you want to catch a Musky now is the time to be on the water. The full moon period coupled with some nice stable weather has really turned on the fishing.

Lots of musky are being caught on Okauchee and Oconomowoc Lakes right now. This weekend we received reports of at least six different fish over 45inches caught and released. There was at least two other fish over 47 inches caught in the last week.

Many of these fish were caught in 10 feet of water or less, and anglers are reporting follows in as little as 3 feet in some cases. A handful of fish are even being caught at the end of piers.

Right now I'd focus your attention on watr between 5-12 feet, but don't overlook rocky shorelines or shallow rockbars just off shore as the warmer weather pulls baitfish onto this shallow structure. Green weeds in 5-12 feet will likely have larger fish nearby, either holding tight or patrolling for food.

We've got lots of suckers in stock, and Gill has been busy putting together our custom quick strike rigs. Ask for the Gillman brand when you stop in at the shop.

See ya on the water,
CT
