Fall Fishing

The opportunities are out there, especially on the warmer days we are having.

Smallmouth: Its time to chase the trophy. Look for them to make a couple of feeding runs onto rocky or sandy areas each day. Best bait for them right now are smaller suckers fished on a lindy rig.

Walleye: Weeds weeds and river holes. In the lakes, cast big rapalas over weedbeds close to dark to chase big walleyes. (Labelle is prime-time right now) In the rivers, drift or anchor the holes and fish the drops or the wood. The biggest walleyes of the year will be feeding up right now.

Musky: What elese can I say? Its that time of the year. Look for active fish around rocky drops or breaks in the weedlines. Jerkbaits and suicks are usually top producers this time of year, but don't forget to bring some suckers. Eric can show you how to rig them up.

Good Luck Out There.
