Monday Information Update

Good Morning,

This is an early update. As information comes in we will post it as we get it.

The slow no wake has been lifted on Okauchee, but remains in place on Oconomowoc, Fowler and Lac Labelle. Upper and lower Nehmabin are also under slow no wake.

Lower and middle genessee are "one lake" right now, and the boat launches at both lakes remain closed. You can carry in a boat. Trout have surely made the trip across the road, and you can expect some catches of trout in middle after the water recedes.

Fishing this weekend was kind of spotty. Some fish were caught, and some nice ones as well, but some anglers struggled in the cooler weather and the low water temperatures. While some fish have moved shallow, they were pretty lethargic, spooky or inactive.

Fish will continue to move shallow as the weather stabilizes this week. If we get a couple of warm days, expect to see large numbers of fish schooling up to feed in the shallow water.

In the meantime, consider live bait tactics. Float fishing with large shiners can be dynamite for big bass and northerns. Earlier in the day, fish at the front ends of coves and bays along the first drop off into deeper water, later in the day move into the bay and look for active fish to be patrolling shallow, dark bottom bays.

Ray and I fished about 5 hours on Sunday, we caught two nice bass on Okauchee. I'll have more fishing reports as they come in today.

One final note: Tommorrow is the first night of our Tuesday Night Big Bass League. Livewell check is by 5:50pm tommorrow at the bar formerly know as "Harley's Road House." (Its on the Okauchee Lake Channel by the bridge)

Cheers
CT
