Weekend Update

Well gang, more fantastic weather on the way through.

Fishing has been pretty steady, and there's not much new to report.

Bass are in the post spawn, but can be caught along weedegdes, under piers and around rocks. Live bait is drastically outproducing plastics right now. Tubes, wacky and jigworms/shakey head are all catching some fish, especially around rock or sand/weed transition areas near deep water. Topwater bite is starting to pick up. Buzzbaits and poppers are catching fish.

Pike fishing has been steady and consistent. Drag suckers on a slip sinker rig around the dropoffs or throw spinners or buzzbaits over scattered weeds on the shallow flats. Moose, Lower Nehmabin, Okauchee and Pine have had better than average pike action lately.

Musky fishing is picking up for trolling bites. Several fish are starting to chase and take topwater presentations, especially in the very early morning. Fowler is giving up some nice fish.

Walleye fishing has been good. Night trolling with flatline cranks or harnesses has been catching some keepers. Pine and Fox have been good, Oconomowoc and Lac Labelle got red hot before the last batch of rain. Also try Koskonong in the protected bays.

Bluegills are nesting on most area lakes. look for bigger gills in 8-17 feet of water. Silver, Middle Gennessee, Lower Nashotah, Ashipunn and Golden have all been good.

See you Monday.
